Hercules: Prince of Power (1984) #1-4 is a
four-issue comic book limited series published by Marvel Comics from March to June 1984. Masterminded entirely by
Bob Layton (who handled writing, pacing, and artwork), this series serves as the direct sequel to his hit 1982 space-comedy miniseries.
Set in a futuristic, alternate 24th-century universe, it blends traditional Greek mythology with swashbuckling space-opera tropes.

Key Features & Value
-
Unique Tone: Known for its lighthearted dialogue, cosmic scale, and emphasis on comedy. Layton’s depiction completely redefined Hercules as a lovable, bombastic brawler with a heart of gold, contrasting heavily with the brooding tone of other '80s comics.
-
Intergalactic Threats: Alongside the core family drama, the issues feature run-ins with Skrulls, the mad titan Thanos's disciples, and genetically modified carnivorous space-horses
