Description
The Immortal Men #1-6 is a six-issue comic book miniseries published by DC Comics from April to September 2018. Co-created by writer James Tynion IV and legendary artist Jim Lee (with subsequent interior art by Tyler Kirkham and Ryan Benjamin), the title was launched as a flagship entry in the "New Age of DC Heroes" publishing line spinning directly out of the events of Dark Nights: Metal.
Plot Overview
The Secret War: For centuries, a shadow faction known as the Immortal Men—headed by the prehistoric-born Immortal Man—has protected humanity. They have fought a clandestine, generational war against the House of Conquest and its leader, the Infinite Woman.
The Cataclysm: The balance of power shatters when Conquest launches a devastating ambush on the team's hidden base of operations, The Campus, slaughtering their ranks.
The Last Hope: The surviving members—including Ghost Fist, Reload, Stray, and Timber—are forced into hiding. They must track down Caden Park, a regular high school teenager haunted by strange dreams who possesses a dormant, uniquely powerful metahuman genetic code that could ensure the team's survival.
The Wider Conflict: The situation quickly spirals out of control as The Batman Who Laughs operates from the shadows, dragging the team's ancient war directly into the path of mainline DC heroes.
